Mr. Queen

In the present day, Jang Bong-Hwan works as a chef at the President’s Blue House. He has a free spirit, but his spirit somehow finds its way into the body of Queen Kim So-Yong (Shin Hye-Sun) in the Joseon period.

King Cheoljong (Kim Jung-Hyun) has secrets. He seems like a figurehead, who is gentle and easygoing. In fact, he hides his strong aspects. Queen Sunwon (Bae Jong-Ok) is the late King Sunjo’s wife. She wields the true power in the country and, thus, relegates King Cheoljong as just a figurehead. Kim Jwa-Geun (Kim Tae-Woo) is Queen Sunwon’s younger brother. He is extremely ambitious.

Does this drama have a Happy Ending?

Spoilers

I know many people have their issue with this drama’s ending. I do too, not gonna lie. It could have been perfect by Bong-Hwan staying in the Queen’s body and being happily ever after. Okay maybe that would have been unfair towards the Queen and her own life, but how about a reincarnation of the King finding Bong-Hwan in the present day then? Anything really.

Okay the baddies were caught, punished or dead and our King and Queen are alive. Our Queen’s maid has her happy ending too! But what about Bong-Hwan?

He is back in the present day, he found out that the King has been able to do his thing he wanted so much and he had survived. But nobody can tell me that Bong-Hwan had not head over heels fallen in love with the king and the King loved him back. I wish they could have stayed together and be happy. That is why this is an ‘Unsure’ for me when it comes to the ending, but boy I loved this drama so much.
